On transhumanism

Transhumanists believe that humans will one day vanquish death and illness. How ideals and overrated hopes are a source of dispair! Their is no absolute good! The „destiny“ of humanity: will there be gods without death and illnesses. As a sceptic I can only talk for my millenia or century and I know humans want to fight at all costs death and illnesses, but making a species of immortal beings is impossible, because at least when the last star in the universe dies, there will be no more humans. Before the last star dies humans will evolve to an other specimen. Humans are limited beings while perfection require infinite attributes like allpowerfullnes, allknowingness and omnibenevolence. Perfection is not part of the human world and we humans are not made for a perfect world, unless being human means to vegetate all day. In my home country Luxembourg the wealth of the average population is so high, that some girls breakup with their boyfriends because of their potato-counch-like passivity. The better it is for a people, the less active it is. (The future of Luxembourg, should not to be ruined by neocpitalism as the far-left is saying it, they could at least bring hope to reactivate afeeling of villiage-like solidarity for this small country.) We need indeed a better quality of life. A good life does not necessarily means the longest life possible. Even though, we should rather think about the true nature of human kind and its distinction to other animals and artificial intelligence. Above all before we think about transhumaist possibilites, we should think about a humanistic ethics in the perspective of the myriad of cultures. People’s philosophy should be the task of new philosophers. A philosopy for the void brain of modern populations is needed. The problems of ethics will be intensified and the great mass is not ready, in my opinion, to handle with such innovations like living for 200 years. We live in a world where even for artificial intelligence we are as a society not ready, like former foreign secretary of the USA Henry Kissinger said it a few years ago.
