The ten most polluting countries are reponsible for half of the 34,1 million tonnes of CO2 produced in 2019. These, as well as those who are polluting at most per capita, could face international judiciary problems. More and more courts in developped countries are condamning their governments for not doing enough against the climate change crisis. Maybe some countries will face accusations before the international court of justice or even condamation from the United Nations‘ General Assembly. The klimax of this evolution would be sanctions or even an embargo. Obviously every country has to make concessions, or else no country will act. On the one hand, if most countries make concessions and the great polluters don’t, there will be tensions; I am pretty sure.
