Della II. alla III. Repubblica

Un nuovo governo per la III. Repubblica ?

Should Italy definitivly chance its constitution? This is a discussion which could or should be taken more and more seriously in this legislature where a fractured parliament was inconclusive and caused three governmental crisis (2019, 2021 and 2022) ! One of my first propositions would be to disband the senate, simplify the vote for the President of the Republic with a two-roud-modell like in France, only let parties with more than 7% of the votes in the parliament and decentralise the admistration – with the exeption of the security apparatus ! Besides the administrative reforms, Italy need a new social system and many more robust environmental protection laws to preserve the beauty and rich diversity of its nature.

Prossima elezione del Parlamento italiano (25 settembre 2022)

After the collapse of the third and last government of the 18th legislature, the Italian people has to vote earlier in a critical time of multiple crisis. Italian Premier and former european central banker Mario Draghi gave up governing despite his economic, geopolitical and sanitary successes after some parties withdraw their support from his technocratic government.

The major parties still supporting Ukraine, european federalism and atlantism are IpF (with as its leader Luigi di Maio), PD (with Enrico Letta at the top) and Articulo Uno (with health minister Roberto Speranza as its secretary). Some minor parties are also supporting these ideas: Italia al Centro (Giovanni Toti), Azione (Carlo Calenda), Pui Europa (Emma Bonino & Benedetto Della Vedova) and Nuove Energie (Nicola Fratoianni & Angelo Bonelli). Albeit, according to the polls the right-wing populists which could take power – even with the help of left-wing populist of the 5 Star Movement. These populists are traditionally pro-Putin (especially Lega), pro-Trump (espescially Fratelli d’Italia), eurosceptic and anti-immigration. I fear that there will be in September the most right-radical government since the 1990s and it will not support any improvement for the european integration or the territorial integrity of attacked Ukraine. It is already hard enough to have a hungarian hyperpremier as a dictator in te midst of the European Union who still flirts with the russian dictator. To be honest we do not need another Viktor Orban in Italy or in Europe. The protest voters will never be satisfied with a protest party; these parties are never fit for governing.
