There are five untrue arguments against immigration, which are misused by the antiimmigrant right-wing national-populists, which have to be debunked.
§1 Economy
The global and globalised economy cannot fonction without immigrants, even since the industrial revolution of the 19th century there were more and more southern europeans migrating to the northern Part of Europe or the Americas in order to work in factories.
§2 Demography
Italy, Greece, Portugal, Northern Macedonia and some other european countries have one of the (top 30) least population growth. There are not too much immigrants in an Europe where the population is aging and needs more young people.
§3 Integration
Adopting or respecting local laws and costums is important for social cohesion. Ironically it seems that some immigrants are making more efforts to approach a new community, than some children of immigrants born and raised in a country where their parents – or one of them – do not came from.
§4 National Identity
Western Nations do not loose their identity or culture through immigration, by the way most immigrants come from more or less „westernised“ former european colonies. Many want to live in Europe or the Americas in order to live in peace or/and adopt the western life-style.
§5 Security
Security in the streets can be achieved through the multiplication of security service officers and their means, but also through mutual solidarity between these officers and the citizens. Such bonds must be created and preserved, otherwise no one can feel secure.
