2012 the greek centre-left party PASOK lost the general elections massivly. In 2015 the radical left replaced quasi totally the old left. Since then, „pasokisation“ has been a term applied to the decline of the traditional left people’s parties in Europe. Only a fewer and fewer countries in the European Union were ruled in 2020 by social-democrats. Now that the traditional left became for many Europeans obsolet, replaceble and maybe ideologically more and more sterile, there should emerge a new left based on ecology, healthcare for all, secured rent, solidarity, worker’s rights and the defence of democracy.

Many political parties in Iraq are fighting for power after the deafeat of ISIL. They are many parties which have their own milicias. Some of these are allied and backed up by the Ayatollahs in Iran. The web of pro-iranian milicias extens from Afghanistan to Libanon and seems to form the prototype of an pan-shia empire dominated by Iran. Even though the countries under Irans influence are chronically instable. The imperium iranum might collapse by the next regional crisis. Armed groups, angry mobs and corrupted officials seem to make the law in many instable countries. Iran will therefore unlikely annex Iraq, its former province. Even though the political instability can make as much impossible to the fusion as the nationalistic sentiments; Iraq considers itself as an arabian nation, whereas Iran as persian. A total political unification would contradict these national sentiments.

By the way these two countries are going to have important elections. Iraq will elect a new parliament, which determined the new premier, whereas Iran will elect a new president. The political resignation since 2018 in these two countries has been very high. A high electoral participation rate will probably not happen, so a few pressure groups might very strongly influence the outcome of the election. In addition, as often experienced, low particiapation rates favors ambitious small political parties. Although nothing is yet decided, it seems that the parties and candidates with the most influence over the armed forces (and so indirectly also over the economy) have the most chances to win the 2021 elections.

10% de la population américaine détient 90% des richesses aux USA. Ces inégalités des richesses deviennent un danger pour la démocratie, si les riches actes de manières corrompu et ont des mandats politiques. C’est pour cela que les années de la présidence de Trump ont affaiblie la démocracie américaine. Les culte des CEOs a donné une bonne image collective à n’importe quel millionaire ou milliardaire, sans se questionnier à quel point certains superriches sont devenus corrompus, legalement et moralement.

Le système judiciaire a eu mêmes des problèmes de punire efficacement les propriaitaire d’une entreprise, qui est „too big for jail“ (trop grosse pour la prison), ou qui est défendu par des avocats très experimentés. De tels injustices ont encouragé la corruption. Même des actions légales, mais arbitriares ont laisséé, comme dirait l’activiste Michael Moore, des villes, comme sa ville natale de Flint, en tant que lieu de tiers monde. Les Lobbys puissants ont pris une influence non-négligable sur les juges et politiciens.

En Algérie deux parties dominent la politique de ce pays. Les politiques algériens ayant dépouillé leur peuple, ont semé une crise politique et sociale majeure à la fin des années 2010. Le président a du être destitué pour calmer les masses, mais le système des partis pourris est encore le même et la corruption fait en sorte, que plusieurs secteurs économique sont sous-développés par rapport aux voisins de l’Algérie.

Un troisième exemple de cleptocratie politique est la Russie de Vladimir Poutine. Selon le sénateur américain Bob Menendez Putine connaitrai seulement la force. „Putin only understands strengh.“ Bob Menendez, 5th February 2021. De plus ce président, qui détient déjà nombre de pouvoirs par la grâce de la constitution, décide selon Menendez qui receverait quoi dans l’économie et l’Etat en Russie. En retour, ces oligarches soutiendraient Poutine.

La troisièmme forme d’oligarchie est une forme autocratique, donc où un seul leader suprême se met au sommet de la hiérarchie et laisse pas de contre-pouvoir dans le même gouvernement. Dans l’exemple de l’Algérie, l’armée a un rôle de faiseur de roi et les partis aux pouvoirs semblent diriger collegialement au lieu de hiérarchiquement. En tout cas, ces trois régimes démontrent bien comment une les démocracies peuvent être mis en danger par la corruption des posséseurs de grandes richesses.

Im vergangenen Jahrhundert wurden den Frauen immer mehr Rechte zugesprochen. Das steigende Selbstbewusstsein der Frauen, die Not von Frauen in nationalen Krisenzeiten durch ihre Anstrengung unterstützt zu werden, sowie der politische Opportunismus und persönliche Druck jener Männer, die den Frauen mehr Rechte gegeben haben sind meines Erachtens die Hauptursachen des feministischen Wandels gewesen.

Unsere Zeit ist geprägt vom Umbau sozialer Strukturen. Über die Vertretung in der Politik und anderen Verwaltungsgremien bis hin im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch werden in mehreren Zivilgesellschaften Umstände und Sitten in Frage gestellt. Manche beklagen sich, dass manche Feministen übertriebene oder unnötige Forderungen haben. Ich bin dabei optimistischer, denn der Faktor, dass dies keine post-feministische Welt ist zeigt, dass der Wille zum Guten, so wie es das Gleichheitsideal es verbildlicht, nicht gestorben ist. Diese Energie für den Kampf um die gleichen Rechte kann auch dazu umgeleitet werden um damit die Demokratie zu verteidigen. Immerhin basiert die Idee der modernen Demokratie auf das Recht auf Gleichheit. Der Demokratiegedanke der Frühen Neuzeit (1500-1800) basierte sich auf dem Freiheitsgedanken, aber nur für die eigene Gruppe. D.h. weiße, heterosexuelle Männer. Manche Demokratieforscher meinen, dass die amerikanische Demokratie nicht seit mehr als 200 Jahren, sondern seit ungefähr 50 Jahren wirklich zustande kam. Erst in den 1970er Jahren seien Frauen und Homosexuelle wirklich in die politischen Partizipationsprozess ansatzweise eigeschlossen.

Während frauenfeindliche Rechtspopulisten wie in Brasilien (Jair Bolsonaro), Russland (Wladimir Putin) und den USA (Donald John Trump) als Staatschefs die Krise um COVID-19 im Jahr 2020 kläglich versagt haben, haben mehrere ihrer weiblichen Kolleginnen in anderen Staaten wie Deutschland, Dänemark, Taiwan, Neuseeland und Norwegen besser, manchmal deutlich besser abgeschlagen.

Ursula von der Leyen wurde 2019 erste Kommissionspräsidentin der Europäischen Union und 2021 wurde Kamala Harris erste Vizepräsidentin der USA. Dies ist Ironie neben der Tatsache, dass nach der Bundestagswahl von 2021 Angela „Mutti“ Merkel nicht mehr Kanzlerin der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bleiben will. Ihre 16-jährige Kanzlerschaft hatte nicht nur das Frauenbild in Deutschland geprägt, sie hatte das wirtschaftlich mächtigste Land der EU durch eine ganze Liste von Krisen geleitet. Immer wieder versuchte sie als Pragmatikerin versucht Konsense auf Bundesebene und Europaebene zu finden. Deutschland hatte die Krisen oft besser überstanden als andere europäische Länder. Die Europäische Union ist zumindest noch da. Aus dieser Sicht wurde sie oft die „Leiterin Europas“ und „mächtigsten Frau der Welt“ genannt.

Ihre Politik scheint weitergeführt zu werden, denn Kanzlerkandidat ihrer Partei wird Armin Laschet. Dieser konnte sich gegen den reaktionären Merkelgegner Friedrich Merz bei der Parteivorsitzwahl behaupten. Merz wurde vorgeworfen, Homophob und Antifeminist zu sein. Nun liegt es an Laschet als Merkelianer in das Rennen zum Kanzleramt zu starten.

Die sozialen Innovationen erscheinen einige Merkwürdig, mir manchmal auch. Doch geben sie mir das Zeichen, dass wir in einem Jahrhundert leben, wo Personen die Dinge zum Besseren richten wollen, solange sie nicht extreme Positionen vertreten. Die Erziehung des Menschengeschlechts ist, wie Gotthold Ephrahim Lessing vielleicht sagen wurde, eine unendliche Geschichte. Der aufgeklärte Lessing war der Meinung, dass der Gott, ein ewiges Wesen, mit der Erziehung endlicher Wesen, also der Menschen, nie aufhören würde.

Ich glaube auch, dass die Utopie, zwar erstrebenswert ist, aber nur als ein Prozess, ein Übergang zum höchsten Gut machbar ist. Weil, diese Welt nicht vollkommen ist, ist der Weg das Ziel. Schon Plato erkannte in seinem Spätdialog „Theaitetos“ dass intellektuelle und körperliche Verbesserungen nur durch Handel und Wandel möglich ist. Unsere Zeit, unser Jahrhundert ist Teil der neuesten Neuzeit, einer Zeit wo das Neue auch Normalität ist. Währenddessen war die Frühe Neuzeit für Albert Soboul noch Teil des Mittelalters. Die Neuzeit fing laut ihm um 1789 an, mit der Französischen Revolution.

Olympe de Gouges schrieb während dieser Revolution die „Allgemeine Erklärung der Rechte der Frau und der Bürgerin“. Sie wurde zwar während der Terreur, enthauptet und sechs Jahre danach wurde die Revolution von Bonaparte für beendet erklärt, doch ihre Ideale, wie weitere Ideale der Französischen Revolution, haben überlebt. Im „langen 19. Jahrhundert“ wurden stück für stück die Frauenrechte debattiert. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg bekamen erwachsene Frauen in vielen Ländern, wo sie zuvor für die Nationen in Kriegszeiten gearbeitet haben und die Verwundeten geheilt haben. Es scheint so als wären Patrioten erst in Notsituationen kohärent und die Frauen als Teil der Nation anerkannt. Es dauerte aber Jahrzehnte um die Geschlechterrolle der Frau weiterhin abzubauen. In Deutschland hatten die Frauen 1920 das Wahlrecht, aber erst ab den 1950er Jahre konnten sie ohne schriftliche Erlaubnis ihres Ehemannes einen Job suchen. Während den 1960er und 1970er Jahren kam es zur sogenannten Zweiten Welle des Feminismus. Nach den politischen Rechten wurden auch soziale und individuelle Rechte gefordert. Wie spannend und facettenreich diese Zeit war habe ich in der Miniserie „Miss America“ sehen können. Sie ist auf wahre Gegebenheiten inspiriert und handelt über den Kampf der Frauenrechte in den USA während den 1970er Jahre. Junge Generationen dieser Zeit haben vieles Erreicht und legten die Grundlage unserer Zeit, wo Gleichberechtigung wie jene der Geschlechter als Wert gilt. In unseren Jahrhundert, dem 21. wird Chancengleichheit unter den Geschlechtern gefordert, wobei ich gespannt und neugierig bin diese Entwicklung mitzuverfolgen.

Thirty years after the Cold War the USA and the USSR there could be an new time of troubles. The People’s Republic of China strech its influence into many continents. Whereas half of Africa and most of Asia id under the allied umbrella of China, there are some last bastions which are still allied withe the amercians. Most of Europe and the americas side with the USA.

The alliances must remain in balance and the tensions must be tempered. Like Binkov would say one Cold War (1947-1989) was more than enough. Sure it would be hard to resist to the will to power and the conatus, but reason must find the grether good, i.e. to avoid the chaos in civil communities and politics. Small countries should not fell under the hegemony of one superpower, but create their own powerful alliance. Politicians should call for unity, not tribalism and civil war. The more chaos there is in a country the more one superpower will buy what it is left after the war. In a Cold War one side can only lose the rivalry through its internal contradictions, crisis and vices.

On the economical level the choices are also clear; the new economic system(s) should benefit the many not some privilege few. The outcome of the political tensions between China and USA will depend of the well-being of their respective peoples. Mass poverty and other kinds of unhappyness like submission, frustration, mass demoralisation etc. play also an important role.

To conclude, we should not save the planet to jeopardise it afterwards. I ask to the two presidents the stabilase their relations and stop this unreasonable danger to world peace.

Fredericus Freyberg is the royal chancellor of the tresury since and after the last one became mayor of the capital city. The Kingdom was shaken by a five-year-old war where many legitimate kings died and countless other usurpers. Having survived purges and coups d’Etat, despite Fredericus personal antipathy toward the General Governor of the King’s Privy Council Lord Harold of the Septrional Lands and its superior the tresaure chancellor Kadomir of Marquardt.

Fred sit one evening in his bed, he remembered the day he was named commander of the cavallery of septrional knighs. Being a semi-succesfull general he gained glory and climb the hierarchy in the military. General Harold conquered and reconquered many porvinces. After the end of the five-years war Harold forced the legitimate king to renounce its title and name his general’s son as crown prince and heir. The former king was never seen since the inthronisation of Harold’s son.

Revising the financial dossiers after his appointement Fred saw, that his supreme regent, the governor general, was monoplising the wealthy guilds in the kingdom. He strongly disagreed on this policy thinking that it would take the freedom and wealth away to the city’s citizen and making corruption at state level more probable. This argument became dangerous for Fred and the general governor started for the first time to question his loyalty. Feeling opressed by his direct hierarchic superior he felt like it was worse than the army. He stand in a ambigious and unsecure position. Most members of the government he served didn’t trusted him. Some nights Fred couln’t sleep without gards before his apartements. He avoided in the future to quarrel, but at one day he contradicted the general-governor so energically, that he punished him severly.

His punishment was releaved when his harsh warnings of an economic depression and an consequential social uprising became true. Harold beat the rebels with his Old Guard, but these knights reclaimed a prosperous rent. Harold promised it and the treasurer panicked. The latter knew, that he will be the scapegoat if the general-governor doesn’t pay his debts. When he realised that the royal treasury was in an even worse state, than before his imprisonment he screemed. After assembling more materials and money he send this to the leaders of the Old Guard. For the others, Fred proposed to give them landlordships, seats in city-councils and other privileges and honors. Harold gave some of these stuff to a quarter of the Elder Guardians, whereas the majority had to wait. Some waited so long, they felt mistreated and betrayed. Harold was confident on the loyalty of the empoverished old knights, whereas Fred and some other members of his government send a letter to warn him.

„You hated the government, so you overtrew it and replaced it with a worse governemnt.“ This was an internet comment on the outcome of the french, russian and iranian revolution and it seems also to apply to some revolutions in the 21st century.

Should some people keep their lesser-evil-leader if the risk of an greather evil is very probable AND to the condition, that the political prisonners shall be resesed, the money robbed from the people shall find its way back and oppresion shall be at least very limited.

In Venezia, the Doge was elected for life time, but he mosty only presided the organs of government without having the political powers to control their decisions. Perhaps this kind of social contrat shall applied in authoritarian regimes to make damage control and avoiding much more troubles with a risky revolution.

During the 19th century such kind of agreements between the reformers and the monarchs. The two parties gained and lost only bits and neither side was very happy about it. At least it seemed to many mouvement as the better option than the revolutions of 1848/9 where only very few realy succeded.

Dear Xenophon,

one of my friends and alchemists John D. Nauron send to me his research on the mind-body problem. It is written in the form of a diary. The essence of of his research is a reductionism to properly define the true essence of the body and the mind. He did so without identifiying mind and body as one and the same thing, like the esoteric knight von Schelling did in his early philosophy. I wish you much joy with reading.

Question: Does the soul have substance ?

Thesis: The soul is a monad (a undivisible unique entity) and this monard is the self of a person. The self lies in a body, which has other kinds of atoms than this one of the soul.

Antithesis: The soul is strictly formal and matter is not the substance oft he soul. In other words, the soul has no substance and it is only to define as reflection.

Pro-argument to the thesis: The soul is the supreme commander of the body. The body executes what the soul commands. When the mind acts, the body acts too. Something which has no substance cannot control an substantial thing. (Note: René Descartes though that mind and body are two totally different things. But some critics accused Descartes to leave a question open: how can two different things interact ? Albeit, the idea, that mind consits of matter implore a particular kind of matter. If there is no such thing like a mind material, then this argument lacks on weigh.)

Pro- argument for the antithesis: The mind is in permanent flow, like a river. So it is a moving entity and the entities in the mind are moving things, because they are moving permanently. The mind is like water in spiritual form. When the mind acts, the body acts too. Something constantly on the move cannot have a solid or constant form. Something nearly formless cannot have real material substance, but is only an acting reflexion.

How can a thought be explained ? Can we explain perceptions without perceptions ? No way ! Perceptions and thoughts are necessary to explain everything else. Mental processes, and especially mind categories, are so pure that it is difficult to grasp. The thought is a spiritual action and a spiritual product. But how can the psyche (Greek for soul) make ideas of the world and at the same time perceive things that it does not control. The physical flesh controls the soul. The flesh takes things true. The nervous system perceives the dynamics and circumstances of the flesh.
